About Den Gamle Rakmästaren

In an age where everything moves fast, Den Gamle Rakmästaren stands still. Here reign the precision of the straight razor, the scent of beard oil, and the art of conversation. A place where tradition meets craftsmanship, and where every man is truly seen, not scanned.

The Rakmästare is not merely a barber. He is a guardian of a lost era, a master with an eye for detail and deep respect for every man who sits in the chair. No noise, no rush, only an honest haircut, a sharp shave, and a moment entirely for yourself.

Welcome to a world where style is a stance, and where beards are taken seriously.

De Oude Scheermeester

Den Gamle Rakmästaren

(Long, long ago – Vanished without a trace)

Founder of Åre’s first barbershop, but mysteriously vanished after his fateful encounter with Rut i Skut (mountain giant).

For centuries, rumors have been whispered: his figure, his blade, glimpsed on the mist-shrouded slopes of Åreskutan, where lost wanderers still speak of his presence to this day. He never returned to the village, yet his legacy refused to die. For where the straight razor speaks, the legend lives on.

Radulfr De knipkoning (Dit ben ik dus met zelfverheerlijking-zelfspot)

Klippkungen Ráðulfr

(1595 – Present Day)

Heir to the Old Master Barber.
Leader of the salon and guardian of the ancient craft. He discovered the lost treasure that allows the legend to live on in Åre. This portrait was painted by Rembrandt in 1626. How is it that his gaze remains sharp, as if the years have not touched him? A master does not age; he is refined.

Härold Henrik

Härold Henrik

(1777-Present Day)

From nothing he emerged, a herald with a horn and a heart of fire.
He stepped into the Rakmaster’s Temple, beneath the watchful gaze of Klippkungen Ráðulfr I.
There he lent his voice to the Eternal Craft.
And thus he became, blessed by the Magical Scissors,
Herald Henrik, Messenger of the Rakmaster’s Temple,
the voice that lets the legend echo through the valleys of Åre.
